We had the pleasure of sitting down with Otto Cornels, Head of Customer Success at Mediaflow, to chat about his journey with SaaSiest and how the community has shaped his professional growth.
“When I first joined the SaaSiest community, I honestly didn’t know what to expect,” Otto shares. “It came as a recommendation from my CEO, who’d already experienced the benefits of being in such a focused network. Trusting his judgment, I decided to dive in, and honestly, it’s been one of the best career decisions I’ve made.”
It didn’t take long for Otto to realize that SaaSiest was more than just another network—it was a place packed with relevant discussions, fresh ideas, and practical tools that were directly shaping his day-to-day work. “You stay ahead by hearing what others are doing and testing your own ideas. The quality of feedback is incredible, and it pushes you to think differently.”
He adds, “It’s a really unique environment where you’re constantly connecting with people in similar roles. Whether you’re leading a team of 20 or 200, those shared experiences always hit home.”
And it doesn’t stop at events. “The Slack channels and LinkedIn connections keep the conversations going, even after the events. It’s like having an extended team beyond your immediate circle,” Otto explains.
He also touches on the power of learning from others’ challenges. “Success stories are great, but sometimes the most valuable lessons come from what didn’t work. It’s a more well-rounded learning experience that anyone can benefit from.”
In the post-pandemic world, Otto highlights how much he values in-person events. “Meeting people face-to-face, especially after so much remote interaction, is priceless. SaaSiest events aren’t just about networking—they’re fun, engaging, and always packed with relevant content.”
Otto has seen the direct impact of SaaSiest on his own work. “We’ve taken so many ideas from the community and woven them into our strategies. It’s that validation you get—knowing you’re on the right path, or sometimes getting that much-needed perspective from another professional.”
For anyone thinking about joining SaaSiest, Otto’s advice is clear: “If you want to grow your skills in a meaningful but playful way, SaaSiest is the place to be. The leadership is fantastic, and the sessions are interactive, making you feel like an active participant, not just a spectator.”
