This week’s member of the week is Sophie Hedestad, CEO, Noxit. Sophie has been part of the SaaSiest journey since the very beginning – joining us for our first SaaSiest event back in 2021! Since then, she’s been a member of the SaaSiest Executive Network, joined us for multiple SaaSiest Digital editions, returned to SaaSiest in Malmö, and connected with the community at our Stockholm meetups. That’s quite a few years of being seriously SaaSy 🤩
We asked Sophie a couple of personal questions; see her answers below:
🧩 Tell us something about yourself that we wouldn’t find on your LinkedIn profile
“If I wasn’t working in SaaS, there’s a real chance you’d find me working at Historiska Museet, or basically any historical museum in the world. History is my biggest passion outside of work, and I can happily spend hours getting lost in stories about people, power, wars, weird traditions, and how we ended up where we are today.”
💼 What’s the best part of your job?
“Meeting customers. I know, I know, everyone says this, so it sounds like the classic SaaS answer. But honestly, I mean it.
Especially as an early stage SaaS company, you get to know your customers really well. Our early adopters aren’t just buying the product, they’re joining us on the journey. They’re curious, brutally honest, incredibly helpful, and genuinely want to see you succeed.
And we need them. We’re building something that doesn’t yet exist in the way we believe it should, so their feedback literally shapes what we build next. There’s something pretty addictive about having a conversation with a customer in the morning and then seeing that conversation influence the product a few weeks later.”
🤝 What does it mean for you to be part of the SaaSiest Community?
“I entered the SaaS world in 2011, and it has rocked my world ever since. When you two, Thomas and Daniel, started SaaSiest, the timing couldn’t have been better. You brought the Nordic SaaS community together, and now you’re doing the same thing on a much bigger European scale.
To me, SaaSiest is family, belonging, knowledge, generosity, advice, new ideas, unexpected conversations, and a lot of FUN.
It’s that feeling of being surrounded by people who understand the weird highs and lows of building SaaS companies, and who are always willing to share what they’ve learned along the way.”
